SPJ National High School Essay Contest The Fellows of the Society honor is presented to journalists for extraordinary contributions to the profession.

Historic Sites in Journalism The recognition honors individuals, news organizations and places of national historic journalism interest. Outstanding Professional and Campus The Society of Professional Journalists wants to increase high school students' knowledge and understanding of the importance of independent media to our lives.

National winners of this essay contest receive scholarship awards. The Sigma Delta Chi Foundation of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Journalism Education Association has proud to announce High School Essay College, Contest, High School Students, Scholarship, School, The Journalism Education Association, University The Journalism Education Association and the Society of Professional Journalists announce three scholarship winners in the 2018 SPJJEA High School Essay Contest.

Over 220 students participated in the nationwide contest, which was judged by 28 journalism educators. Established in 1998, the contest is a project of both JEA and SPJ. Society of Professional Journalists High School Essay Contest The Sigma Delta Chi Foundation of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Journalism Education Association want to increase high school students knowledge and understanding of the importance of independent media to our lives.

We'll do the work. SPJ High School Essay Contest (2011) The Society of Professional Journalists (yes, another journalism themed scholarship! ) is currently running their annual essay contest. This contest asks for participants to write a word essay on the topic of: Why is free expression through independent media important?. The Journalism Education Association and Society of Professional Journalists will have the right to edit, publish or otherwise duplicate any essay entered into the contest without payment to the author.

4. Due to the volume of entries received, only national winners will be contacted with the results. 5. The entry fee for this contest is 5 per essay. Excellence in Journalism is the national journalism conference of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Radio Television Digital News Association.
